We’ve always valued the nurturing of qualities between us, such as the quality of trust which inspired the name of our band. And at our 2022 summer gathering in London, we were moved to explore the music of other qualities which we felt were needed in us and the world. That was when the idea of discovering the music of patience first arose.

Oddly, despite our best attempts that day, it was during a playful tea break that the music unexpectedly dropped in as we heard Charlotte and Irene wildly playing the piano together in the rehearsal room. Within half an hour, all the other musicians were joining in, as the lyrics, music and vocals blended into a lovely rough diamond. We called it ‘With Patience’, because that’s the quality we felt inside as we composed it.

The different versions you’re about to hear arose spontaneously when we sent the original recording to some of the band who couldn’t make it to London. So Enrique recorded a Swiss version, and Edo and his wife Racquel were inspired to record a Hawaiian version. Eventually, we encouraged Racquel to add her voice to the original. All three versions have a unique feel and tone coming from the mix of different people and different lands. We hope that they will offer a glimpse of the colourful palette of patience’s tones… tones that could be infinite because the quality of patience can’t be carved into only one song.
